This video, made by an employee of a boarding kennel, shows the varying, unique emotions of 58 different dogs as they wait for their beloved companions to return home.

The creator of the video says:

“There was always so much emotion behind their eyes and I imagined what they could say if they could talk. Every dog dealt with being temporarily separated from their home and family they loved in a different way. Some barked–sometimes non-stop, others waited patiently for their family to return. Some were happy, some were sad, some excited, and others depressed. But they all had one thing in common–no matter the breed, size, shape or color, if you looked into their eyes you could see the deep love for their family and how much they missed them while they were away. Both orphaned at too young an age to survive on their own, Anzac the baby kangaroo and Peggy the wombat are best buds! They are so close; the marsupials both share the same pouch!

Anzac and Peggy are being cared for at Wild About Wildlife Kilmore Rescue Centre in Victoria, Australia. Anzac was found at about 5 months of age and brought to the Wild About Wildlife Center. Depending on the breed, kangaroos normally stay in their mother’s pouch for 9 months before first leaving it. They continue to enter and exit her pouch for another 9 months before being completely weaned.

On Thursday, Governor Deval Patrick signed “An Act Further Regulating Animal Control” into law, which will update laws that have been on the books for decades and create stronger, more comprehensive animal protection laws in a variety of areas.

“For years, organizations, individuals, and legislators have been seeking a comprehensive revision of Chapter 140, relating to animals; S. 2192 is the result of years of stakeholder discussions,” said Kara Holmquist, Director of Advocacy, MSPCA-Angell. “We are thrilled to see this important bill become law and believe it will make important progress in safeguarding both animals and the public.”

Here’s how: India and the US are key clients to Syria’s main weapons supplier -- the state-owned Russian company Rosoboronexport. If we can get the two countries to threaten to halt all deals unless the Russians stop supporting Syria's murder machine, the arms dealers could be forced to stop their Syria sales. Both the US and India want to stop the violence in Syria, but diplomacy is failing. This is their best chance -- let's give them a massive mandate to act.
