Tallest HS Player in the World 7'5" Mamadou Ndiaye
When I was in highschool we used to "recruit" basketball players from all over the world to try to assemble the best team possible. I'm not sure about the legality of this practice considering the head coach was in the papers a couple of times. Regardless, the new star is Mamadou Ndiaye who stands at 7 foot 5 inches. It's not even fair for the other kids to play against him. He does somehow lose the tipoff though..check him out below.
Out of this world: The Senegal-born star was warned he would go blind after a tumour was discovered
The Senegal-born star, who plays for Brethern Warriors School in California's Huntington Beach, arrived in the U.S. after he was sponsored by Simi Valley's Stoneridge Prep.
During a physical examination doctors discovered a large tumour on his pituitary gland, which they believed may have contributed to his accelerated growth.
They warned that if the tumour was not removed in two years, then he would go blind.
But the school did not have adequate insurance to cover the surgery, thus putting his visa at risk because he could not remain enrolled as a student.
High and mighty: Mamadou Ndiaye stands head and shoulders above his teammates during matches
