PARK CITY, Utah (AP) — Steven Holcomb raced to his second consecutive World Cup two-man bobsled victory, pairing with Curtis Tomasevicz on Friday to edge American teammates Cory Butner and Charles Berkeley.

The winners finished two runs at Utah Olympic Park in a combined 1 minute, 37.40 seconds, beating Butner's sled by three-hundredths of a second. The German team of Francesco Friedrich and Gino Gerhardi was third at 1:37.50.

Holcomb says he's energized by his return to his home course, and by the recent release of his book in which he acknowledged trying to commit suicide in 2007. He says the failed attempt made him want to capitalize on his second chance.
