Volvo has always been known for automobile safety. The company has developed a new Pedestrian Airbag Technology. Sensors in the front bumper that register contact between the car and the pedestrian send signals to the car's computer system. The hood then unlatches and is raised up by the deploying airbag. The airbag covers part of the windshield and the A pillar, both common places for unlucky passerbys to get hit.
