A very close friend of mine recently got engaged and has asked me to help plan the wedding. Although I have never been one of those girls that flips through bridal magazines in her free time, I am getting really excited about planning this event! This is the forth post in a series about wedding planning and this time I will focus on the yummiest part of the day: THE CAKE!!!
Cupcakes!
Everyone has fallen back in love with cupcakes, but they are not the cupcakes of your childhood, these are AMPED up cupcakes and VERY fancy. They have become a very popular way to do a "wedding cake." Check out these photos of different cupcake executions:

Years ago I went to a friend's wedding and they had a beautiful cake that incorporated big, bright flowers cascading down the cake. It was stunning. Check out a few of these ideas:
I love this one, I just wish the photo was in color!
Give 'em options
Some couples are now opting for a whole table full of sweet goodies. You can offer cookies, candies, a traditional cake, cupcakes... whatever you'd like, but the main idea is VARIETY!

even though they look lovely, I think they all look as if they taste like rubber or plastic
