Ironically, this inforgraphic about why sex education is so important for teens from the United States comes from, none other than, MTV. I say "ironically" because MTV's show 16 and Pregnant attempts to show the difficulties of being a teen mom, but many critics wonder if it actually does more harm than good. Many wonder if the show actually makes teens more interested in having babies on the off chance that they could be famous on MTV. And does the show really portray a realistic life of a teen parent? BUT, I did like this infographic, being an educator and a huge supporter of sexuality education. Check it out and let me know what you think!
Sex education is really important, obviously, but I think there's a lot of things going on and not just the lack of it. I mean, when I was in highschool (a long, long time ago haha) three of my classmates got pregnant. We took the same classes, the same courses (which included sex ed), etc and still got pregnant haha I don't know...
BTW,
50% of pregnant teens graduate highschool
My ex-classmates didn't :(
Great infographic, Meg! Thanks :)

the southern you go the more Abstinence-Preaching States you found, which makes me wonder what are the stats specifically on these states, and will happen if we compare them with those states where Sex Education lessons are teached? just wondering...

Actually, the infographic addresses that in the part that says abistence education is failing... it shows that those states actually have higher teen pregnancy rates
