A very close friend of mine recently got engaged and has asked me to help plan the wedding. Although I have never been one of those girls that flips through bridal magazines in her free time, I am getting really excited about planning this event! So, here is the third post in a series about wedding planning! This post will cover Guest Book ideas! It may seem like a small detail now, but looking back on your big day, this will be the book that you flip through over years to remember all the loved ones who attended. Doesn't seem like such a tiny detail now, does it?!
Puzzle Guest Book
I absolutely love this idea! I'm a big fan of puzzles anyway, and this takes it to the next level. You can have a puzzle custom made that also works as a guest book. There is a piece for each guest to write on and on the other side is an image or photo that you have chosen.
Here are a couple places that offer the Guest Book Puzzle:
Another popular idea is to use a matted photo as your guest book. Guests can jot their well wishes along the border and you can frame it after the ceremony so you will be able to enjoy it on a daily basis.
Vintage Postcard
I already shared one cute idea to incorporate vintage postcards (see my Save the Date post!). This is a cute and organized way that guests can leave you a personal message.
Guest Book Map
Buy a print of a vintage map! There are a lot of fun options here. This is a great option for couples who are planning a destination wedding. You could also choose a map of your honeymoon location. Or just pick a really cool looking map that you both like!
A Homemade Book
Some people might choose to go with a traditional homemade book. You can choose whatever design you want for the cover and the pages.
Photo Book
Have a photo book made. This is a fun way to share your personal photos and memories with your guests and have a wonderful guest book full of your favorite photos.
Guest Book Quilt
For the crafty couple, a guest book quilt can be a really cool idea. Each square holds the message of a different guest.
Choose your own book!
I recently went to a good friend's wedding. She and her husband love visiting and camping in National Parks, so for their wedding guest book they purchased a beautiful photo book of National Parks. Each guest was invited to choose their favorite park and write their message there. I loved this idea. You can choose any kind of book that suits the interests of the couple.
The non-book Guest Book
Think outside the box! What represent you as a couple? What would be a cool and different way for your guests to leave you a message? Check out some of these other cool ideas:
Wish Tree
Corks
Sign our chair!
Message in a Bottle
Couple Madlib!
Polaroid Marriage Advice
Okay, I saved my favorite one for last, so I hope you made it this far. Each guest can take a polaroid of themselves and then write their marriage advice at the bottom. This is a great way to have a visual reminder of the person on that day and their advice/thoughts. I love this idea especially for the variety of advice that you are likely to get... from your 5 year old niece to your grandparents who have been married for 50 years. Surely everyone, in a relationship or not, will have useful advice for the future. And what a fun album it will be to have around the house!
