Have you ever thought about what humans and other creatures might look like some 50 million years from now (if we haven't already destroyed our entire planet which is looking most likely at the rate we're going). Well, according to speculative zoologist Dougal Dixon, humans might well evolve into something a little like this:

Or this...

Back in 1982, Dixon did a series of illustrations for the now defunct science fiction mag Omni Magazine based on what he thought future homo sapiens might look like if we were all still around 50 million years from now. Based on his extensive knowledge and research, he envisages a hyper-evolved human that's both a pyschic and a teleporting brain-puppet. No joke.

quote:

He said: "[humans] will employ their expanded mental powers, “willing” nourishment up from the lake or teleporting himself down for a meal on the shore.”

Dixon also talked about genetically altered human organs that roam around at random and affix themselves to passing animals. Not quite sure why? Would they feed off them?

It's pretty far fetched and out there but 50 million years is a long way off so who's to say... although the photos would suggest that we'll regress once more to animal-like creatures albeit super animals with the power to "will" our food up from the lake. I wonder what kind of food our lakes will be serving up all those millions of years from now. At the rate we're going, it certainly won't be fish on the menu.
