It's a blog devoted to stylish, inspiring grannies and grandpops. As the tag line of the website says, "Proof from the wise and silver haired set that personal style advances with age." And judging by some of the individuals the site feature, it most certainly does.
It was started by a New Yorker named Ari Seth Cohen who roams the streets of New York looking for the most stylish and inspiring older folk who know how to live life to the fullest, proof that life doesn't end when you get older and a bit grey. Healthy mind, healthy body as they say! He photographs them in their most glamorous outfits and interviews them for style tips and some general advice on life. And why shouldn't these people know a thing or two about personal style? They have been experimenting with their wardrobes a lot longer than any of the youth of the fashion world. And still caring about your appearance when you're old doesn't mean mutton dressed as lamb. These people really do have taste and style.
Here are a few gems from the website:
This 99 year old woman going on 100 is incredible! She practices pilates. I hope I'll still be exercising on a mat aged 99. Plus she dresses pretty well too, matching jewelry and all.
You only live once, why not enjoy it for as long as possible...! I hope I'll still be inspired to don my glad rags and a lick of pink lippy aged 90 when I pop down the road to do my weekly shop.
great post! old people desearve more credit in our society! if ruth can "get up" and do it so can you...
first of all, ruth looks DAMN good at 99!
this just goes to show that, life is what you make of it, you can think of getting old as depressing or you can see each day as another gift!
i'm going to check out that blog too!
