Its origin is in Eastern Europe and Western Asia. This is the origin of species and Pyrus caucasica Pyrus nivalis. It is cultivated in Europe, North Africa and Asia.

The main producers are China Pear, Italy, USA, Spain and Argentina. Need something temperate and humid.
