Smoking Ban Compulsion, People’s Opinion Still Absent
With the arrival of a new indoor smoking prohibition in Beirut that was enforced last week, police are seen coming at most bars in the city and sometimes doling out big fines to inhabitants and bar owners which violated the new smoke-free legislation. Notably, in a country where many residents are doubtful of the rule of ordinance, the prohibition is being implemented at buildings usually known for their uninterruptedly smoking haze.
I think people should be able to smoke, in their own homes, with no kids around.

people should be able to decide if they want to smoke or not. but if you got a person who doesn't want to and a smoker on the same room, someone is going to get agravated, don't you think? then... the logical answer would be for smoker to smoke if they will, but making sure they aren't incomodating a non-smoker.
do smokers take care of that? not always, hence, you need rules, laws, regulations in order to make everybody happy.
