Microsoft confirms release of Windows 8 for October
Although we were already assuming a long time, Microsoft has just confirmed its partner conference taking place in Canada that Windows 8 will be released in October, following the same steps that ran Windows seven years ago, released on October 22 , 2009.
The version "Release to Manufacturing" (RTM) will start the first week of August, said company CFO, Tami Reller. It is the first time that Microsoft refers in detail to officially launch dates.
The RTM version is sent to the manufacturer for the load on the computers that will be on sale after the official launch of the operating system. Any additional changes made after this version will come as a patch or service pack. The plan outlined by Reller devices means that Windows 8 will be on sale in late October.
Microsoft Windows 8 always said he would during the second half, but would not commit to a fixed term (until now).
