The most-listened-to song on my iPod is currently this new song "Let It Happen" from Silver Swans, an electro pop duo from San Francisco. If you haven't ever heard of them, think The Knife with a more dreamy, ethereal sound. It's the kind of music that gets under your skin... in a good way. The band features vocalist Ann Yu and producer/musician John Waters.

The song is taken from their new 2012 album Forever, their second album that's set for release on February 7 on indie label TwentySeven Records.

The name Silver Swans was inspired by the three fictional characters of the same name in the Wonder Woman stories. The Silver Swans' powers lie in their powerful sound waves, or "swan song," which is capable of destroying land with its force. The Swan's low-level humming form a protective shield around herself that is able to deflect bullets and projectiles. Ann Yu emulates the same powerful sounds (without destroying any land of course). Her voice has quite a powerful, haunting effect.

Here's another great song from their new album, Secrets.

Las Vegas born Yu was quoted as saying, “Nostalgia, longing, beauty hazed in sadness, idealisms, crystal moments, destiny, and pure intentions” are the projections behind their writing and compositions. “We have a very quick working process actually, some songs take maybe a couple hours to finish, we don’t belabour ideas and drive them to the ground with changes and what ifs, we just create what suits us and move on to the next idea. Live, we are joined by our lovely friends David Farrell and Jennifer Duardo and they are always the first to hear what we’ve been working on.”

I like their style. You should check out their first album, Realize the Ghost too.
