The Agonist, my favorite band

The Agonist is a Canadian melodic death metal band, they are from Montreal, Canada. The band was formed in 2004 by guitarist Danny Marino, bassist Chris Kells, and vocalist Alissa White-Gluz. At the beggining they were called The Tempest, then they changed to the current name upon their signing to Century Media Records in 2007, and also in 2007 they added a new member to the band, the baterist Simon McKay. To date, The Agonist have released 3 studio albums, 5 singles, 4 music videos and one EP. Touring extensively since their first album, they have shared the stage with bands such as Arsonists Get All the Girls, Epica, The Faceless, Chelsea Grin, Kamelot, Visions of Atlantis and many more. Some of the most common themes and topics of the lyrics of their songs are: the nature, the animal rights, racism, discrimination and other social problems.

The Agonist released their fist album, Once Only Imagined on August 14, 2007. Their first video, Business Suits and Combat Boots was released on August 28, 2007; it was filmed by acclaimed director David Brodsky and was voted the number 6 video of the year 2007 on MTV2's Headbanger's Ball. Their second album, Lullabies for the Dormant Mind was released in March 2009, and the third one, Prisoners was released on June 4.
