The Whitest Boy Alive - Electro Indie Folk at its best
If you're a fan of indie-folk band Kings of Convenience from Norway then you'll love Whitest Boy Alive, a German-Norwegian musical group based in Berlin. The singer/guitarist Erlend Oye is also a member of the band Kings of Convenience.
The group first started out as an electronic dance music project in 2003 and gradually became a band. Their music is quite similar to Kings of Convenience but a bit more poppy and upbeat with an electronic vibe. I really like the lead singer's voice. It has a very soothing effect.
Up until now they've released two albums, Dreams (2006) and Rules (2009) and I'm hoping there's going to be another one in the making soon.
Check out this video for their song Golden Cage from their first album. The video is full of optical illusions and is quite fun to watch. It was a collaboration with famous director Mauro Vecchi.
