My home town, Calgary, is located just east of the Rocky Mountains in Canada. To the east there is prairies that only become more flat the further you go. To the west are the mountains, little more than half an hour away.
I've heard more than a few times, how people that just move here think the clouds are strange. They say that they're shaped strangely and are so close. I've never noticed it, myself. Still, the skies around here are beautiful.
This picture was taken on Canada Day from a town just outside Calgary. This was a large storm front moving across the horizon, firing off lightening that I wish I could have captured.
Taken with my iPhone.

sometimes zoom lens (specially those for reaching long distances) tend to flatten, level all the thing on the shot in one point. do you know what I mean? They do look strange, like overlapped. I'd love to visit Cánada one day.

I know what you mean. I don't have super fancy camera, but zoom lenses on the whole seem to suck. Though I suppose if have the money to drop on the very expensive ones, they work well. :)
To me, clouds like this are fairly normal, but it was the combination of the purple/pink hues and the arc that made me snap the picture. I suppose the clouds around here are fairly dynamic though!
