After much anticipation, November has finally come around and finally I can make a post about Beards so that all the users here at Socialphy can take a long look in the mirror and decide what to do with their beards. It's difficult to choose which style so here you'll find some variety and get informed.
1. Decide what kind of beard you're looking for

The beard, mustache, and presence of both is one of the most important factors in looking masculine. It's the first thing you see and having a beard isn't a simple task.

To shave a beard depends a lot on the form of the face and for this you should consult the experts (ie this post).

Types of Faces

There are three types of faces: square, diamond, and perfect.

The first is the most common, it's characteristics include a wide forehead, pronounced cheeks, and a thin and protruding chin.

For Diamond shaped faces or "inverted triangle", we can observe a wide forehead, wide cheeks and jaw bone, and a long, protruding chin.

There’s a certain style of beard that fits each of these three types of faces; a person with a square face should use the traditional goatee.
A full beard is not recommended because it makes the person face seem larger than it really is.

The opposite is true of people with diamond shaped faces because the goatee makes the face seem longer. It’s more convenient to use a full beard, with round or square cut on the cheek.

The perfect facial structure can use any of the beards, including goatee, full, or the in-style, thin beard.

Advice when shaving

Do the following, no matter what beard you choose.

-Before each shave, wet the beard with hot water to open up the pores.

-It’s recommended that you use the same shampoo that you use on your hair. Gels and creams are good but they may dry the skin.

-Once finished, its best to wash your face with cold water to close the pores.

-One should use gel or lotion after shaving. Aftershave is usually the best and it feels fresh, soft, and smooth.

Types of Beards

Rockers

Usually used by European and American Artists
musicians/rockstars, this beard may be accompanied by a mustache or not.

Modern

The beard is thin and its currently in style. It requires shaving daily to maintain its length.

Classic

The full beard is thick and classic. It requires special care, like avoiding or controlling dandruff. It’s also the oldest.

Goatee

For people with square or round faces, it makes the face seem a bit longer. (In style since 1995)

Mustache

Accompanied by a thin beard and groomed from the jaw, it works on any type of face.
