Double Cake
My grandma (that sadly passed away a month ago),let me the recipe of thsi cake,that i'm sure is the cheapest you ever seen.I made it in a long mold but you can do it in a circualr one or wherever you want to...is really tasty and there's just a few ingredients,take note!(the name of the cake is "double" 'cause all the ingredients are relationated to number 2)
Well,the first step is peel the apples and oranges
Then chop them in little cubes ( Or medium size,so you can taste them in the cake after )
Put the apple in a recipient and start chopping the orange(Does'nt have to be cubes,just chop it :grin
Now a really important step...add the sugar with a lot of style....
(Wash your hands)But no dishes lol:
Now mix all and make sure that sugar reach all the fruit(im gonna explain why):
Put it on the fridge and wait all night so the friut macerate and let the fruit natural juices flow (One of my favourites alcohol bottles)
Waste the garbage,the order in kitchen is really important...
And speaking of order...i found this nasty thing on the fridge that idk what the hell is,but i dont waste it yet.
The macerated fruit sure spill a nice qty of a kinda syrup (Don't eat it ! lol):
Now the easiest :
Put the floor in the fruit mix (in two different times,so it would be easier to mix) and mix good(In t his pic i added one of the 2 parts of the floor,remember that must be Self.rising floor!):
Now you have to put the eggs(I broke them first to make sure that they're not spoiled lol):
Well,grease and floor a mold....The oven must be (approximately) in a temperature of 356° F (180 C°)
Avoid to steal
Well,put the preparation into the mold and spread with sugar on the top (this will make a nice golden sugar shell )
Put it on the oven but no opn it at the middle of the cooking,'cause the cake will go down...(Approximately at the 40-50 minutes it should be done,but this depends of the strong of your oven)
You gotta sink the cake with a knife or a brochette stick,and when it go out dry(With no cake butter on it) it's done! It's better if you wait to get colder to unmold.
I made a stencil and spread it with powdered sugar.You can see little pieces of orange and apple on it !
