Course to draw Anime !

In this post we will learn the basic techniques to start drawing anime:
Construction:
If you are a beginner there is something you have to stick in your head before you start drawing. Whatever you do, people, animals, objects, whatever, always draw it as a volume. All three dimensions and draw when you have to capture that sense of depth in the plane of the paper. So first you must master the drawing of geometric figures such as spheres, cubes, cylinders, parallelepipeds, etc.. viewed from all angles.

Before you start drawing a character you think the position will be found and then draw a sketch, taking into account the volume of each body part. This sketch draws it as a dummy if you then add the clothes and details.
But all of his time. The important thing here is that you understand that you should not draw straight lines on paper, you must build the character, as shown below.

Note:
"eje de balance" = "balancer shaft"
Head:
To draw the head base is taken as a sphere and then adds the jaw. The jaw line reaches behind the ears, but sometimes not drawn completely so that the face does not look very rough, especially if it is a woman. Depending on the age of the character, the shape of the head may vary. While the character is more adult, the head is more elongated.
Depending on the position of the head draw a vertical line indicates the center, which will serve as reference to position the nose and mouth. Then draw a horizontal line where the eyes are placed. In these pictures you can see how to draw the head in different positions.

Note:
Frente = Front
Perfil = Profile
Posterior = Later
Eyes:
The eyes can be of many types according to the taste of the artist. First lines are drawn where the tabs go. The tabs above are thicker than those below. Then draw the cornea and the pupil center. The cornea may be round or oval. The top is painted black or a dark color. Here's the main brightness as the light almost always comes from above. Can be placed alongside a secondary brightness, smaller than the principal. The bottom is painted on degraded, leaving the bottom lighter or even white. Across the bottom you can draw more bright, reflections, and so on. but without making the eyes look too strained. Below the upper lashes, the whites of the eye is drawn a small shadow cast by the upper eyelid. We draw the upper eyelid to the eye look more realistic. Cover the eye brows on both sides. Remember that women's eyebrows are drawn thinner than those of men. Beneath the eyebrows are drawn shadows caused by the holes in the skull found in the eyes (eye sockets). And presto! Now we draw the classic manga style eye.

The eyes in the face in profile seen in a triangle.

Because of perspective, a face in three quarters the eye that is farther away will be smaller.

The height and eye size depends on individual taste, not necessarily have to be the center of the face.

Nose:
In the face seen in front of the nose can be drawn in many ways. It all depends again on the taste of a cartoonist. No need to draw a nose, very realistic. Sometimes you just draw the shadow of the nose, or sometimes represented with a small line. Here you can see some examples of the nose from the front.

The nose on a face in three-quarters can also be drawn in several ways. Not always the nose is drawn in the exact center of the face. You can draw a little forward as you can see in the picture below.

The nose profile can also be drawn in many ways.

Mouth:
The mouth can be drawn as one continuous line or two small lines, which make the face look more delicate in the case of women. You can also draw a small line below the mouth indicates the lower lip.

The mouth seen from the front face is drawn to the center, but in the face by three-quarters can be drawn slightly inward, without exaggerating too much. To better understand look at the picture.

The mouth is drawn profile as follows, remembering that the upper lip is smaller than the lower one and is slightly later.

The open mouth profile also can be drawn as follows.

Ears:
The ears can go from eye to nose. Never do you forget the "lines" of the ears.

Neck:
The neck can be drawn thinner than its actual size. The two stand neck muscles (sternocleidomastoid) ranging from the clavicles to behind the ears.

Hair:
Draw the hair seems to be very difficult, especially if you omit the first step. At first I said before making the details to do a sketch. The same is to draw the hair. First of all draw a line that defines how far is the scalp begins and where it is a sketch frente.Luego hair and then draw the details.

The "tufts" of hair should not be all equal, you should always change its shape and size to make it look better (not to seem bananas). To make the hair look natural, the strokes should be loose.

All hair should not always follow the same direction. Try to draw some hair over the heads of others.

In doing so do not forget to erase the lines of the hairs that are behind others.

Make-tailed hair is very simple. Only you must remember that all hair will point towards the beginning of the tail.

Here's some hairstyles.

There is a way to draw realistic hair shiny. First lines are drawn in the form of lightning in the hair, where most of the brightness. Then lines are drawn towards the beam hair until all the hair is covered under the area where we decided that would shine (usually on the curves).

This technique takes a long time but the result is worth it.

Facial Expressions:
By drawing more we know, our characters come to life if not always serious draw. So we must take into account the state of mind in which your character is when you draw it.

See how the picture changes if we do now with an expression of joy.
For this I have drawn raised eyebrows, eyes on the classical form of bowing and smiling mouth (as if you had not noticed looking at the picture). Is not is more beautiful? ^ _ ^

But happiness does not last forever now going to draw sad, to mourn about. Notice how changing the position of the eyebrows that are now stuck in the eye and up.

Let's draw the character annoying. Now look at how the eyebrows go down and the iris of the eye becomes smaller. This is true in the manga is done to give more drama to the expression.

Now let's draw the character annoying screaming. I draw the line between the eyebrows is a frown (I did not turn out so well). Also notice how the neck is going forward.

Now your character has been given a fright or something has surprised. The neck is now going backwards.

Here I have drawn the character with an expression of pride, arrogance, or it may be that they might have had enough. What you see is the hair is a symbol used in the manga and is a throbbing vein that is about to burst. As we all know is impossible to have a hair above the vein, but in manga that can be done.

Suppose that our character is screwed up and embarrassed. The mouth is like smiling but his teeth. The droplet is another symbol widely used and represents a drop of sweat.

Finally here we see the character with a face of resignation or apathy. The symbol that looks like a fungus represents the breath.

Of course these are not the only expressions that exist. These are just some examples of common expressions to give you an idea. You can get different expressions combining the positions of the eyebrows, eyes and mouth, it's about to go play. Another recommendation is to use your mirror (not just see your face for hours and reventarte granites) and see your face in various expressions and be copied on paper.
The facial expressions better when, to what we have learned now, we added the rotation of the face, which is what we will see below.

Human figure:
The standard measure of the human body is eight heads tall. That is, to start drawing a character will leave by the head, which we take as a reference for body size.
Both men and women in the arm reaches about waist high. The size of the forearm is equal to the arm. The wrist should get more or less to the pubis.
Note that the man has much wider back than women. The woman on the other hand has wider hips than men's.
It is obvious that in man the muscles stand out more than women.
As I said, this is a standard measure, which means that our characters are not all necessarily measure eight heads. The size varies according to age or sex of the character. Adult women are drawn eg with seven heads tall. But always remember that no matter the height, the center of the human body is at the height of the pubis.

Also good to know the muscles to draw the human figure well. In these pictures we can see (more or less) the main front and back muscles.
If you do not spectacular wide with my drawings can check any encyclopedia you have out there.
We know human body proportions and some of the muscles. But how do we begin to draw your character in different positions?.
First of all you imagine what your character's position will be found. Once you have determined the position, draw a skeleton of the character as seen in the following drawings (not you go to draw all the bones of the body). This is very important if you do not have much experience with body proportions. Why? Imagine you start to draw your character, and to the finished inking. Then, when you look closely your work of art that you realize you left a very short arm. What are you doing? To avoid any such problems is that you make the skeleton. Draw it in the position you want, double check that everything is in order, corrects all errors of proportion and once you're a hundred percent happy with your new skeleton can start to give volume.
Do not even start drawing your character dress. The details such as eyes, hair and clothes are made later.

We know the proportions of the body and how to draw our characters. But you get it right the human figure must practice a lot. Practice, draw whatever, looking for pictures from magazines, clothing catalogs, newspapers or the Internet and get to draw and explore ways the body. It's the best way to learn.
Here are just some sketches that I can serve you.

Hands:
The hands seem to be very difficult to draw, but really are not. Lie, if they are hard to draw, but practice helps. The technique I was taught some time ago that the drawing of the hands is not so complicated.
I guess since there is no difficulty in drawing cylinders right?. Then we will have no problem drawing the fingers. If this is not so please please go to lesson one. jejeje ...
Start drawing the shape of the palm of the hand. Then we'll go four lines where the index finger, middle, ring and little fingers. Each of these fingers will divide into three equal parts.
In fact the three parts of the fingers (phalanx phalanx falangina and) are not equal. The phalanx is the longest, but the articulation of the metacarpal phalangeal (the set of bones between the wrist and fingers) is within the palm of your hand. Do you understand? No matter, let us continue ...
First make the middle finger, as it is more or less the same size as the palm of your hand. Drawing on the middle finger will draw the missing fingers.
As we see in the pictures below, the ring finger is a bit smaller than the average, followed closely by the index, which is larger than the little finger.
To make the thumb draw a triangle that reaches the middle of the palm of the hand. This triangle is the first section of the thumb. Then draw the other two sections.
Easy, no?. Then the drawings.

But here the joke is over. Now comes the hard part, which is to draw the hand in different positions.
Here's some examples using this technique.

Some positions are harder than others, but we must always remember the following: ... I forgot what it was. Ah, drawing the parts of the fingers as if they were cylinders. And no matter if a finger is not going to see because it is covered by the other. We should always draw all parts of all fingers. I should also clarify (in case there is a lentil) that because the perspective is not always the fingers will be the same size. mmm ....
One more thing. We draw the finger joints to go our realistic hands and fingers do not seem sausages. The fingers are not perfect cylinders. The cylinder base we serve, nothing more.
We can practice seeing our hands in front of a mirror and drawing them in different positions. It is important to practice, if not we will ever hands well.
Here are some positions put to practice.

We must also consider how we pick up different objects. How do we take the phone? A ball? And a cup? A pencil, a cup, a glass, the mouse, a spoon, a book, etc.., Etc.. Etc...? No choice but to take these items, take our mirror and get to draw. What they wanted, they draw the hand picking each object?
I'll give a few examples.

Feet:
Like the hands, feet require much practice.
In the next picture we can see the shape of the foot seen from above and in front. Here you can see the curved shape of the foot, and the position of the fingers. We must remember that the inner ankle is higher than the outer. For those who did not realize at the picture we're seeing right foot.

To simplify the drawing up and get used to the way we can divide it into four sections as shown below.

This technique not only serves to draw the foot in profile. We can also apply for drawing in perspective as we see in the image below.

When drawing women's feet must draw smooth lines and curves that make them look more delicate and feminine. By contrast, male foot strokes are more coarse, straight and strong. Because if half .... will not be rare.
I almost forgot to mention that the foot length is about a head.
We practice drawing feet from all possible viewpoints. How? You guessed it. Grab your mirror again and draw your own feet. Of course, if you have someone willing to make a model, even better. Especially if your feet are ugly.
