Undoubtedly Microsoft Office Office Suite is currently number one market, however, for fans of Linux software tool has often been elusive, resorting to the use of virtual machines and emulators to have it. So far a lot of people have managed to successfully install updates for Office 2003 and 2007 on their PCS, but not the latest version, Office 2010 to which there have been several drawbacks.
Below is a detailed instructions executed on a Dell laptop E6510 Latitudes to install Microsoft Office 2010 on Linux Ubuntu 11.10 using Wine 1.3.34 package and with reference to the Ubuntu Forum (2).
First uninstall all previous versions of Wine with:
sudo apt-get-purge remove wine
Delete all directories related to Wine.
Located in Home Folder and press Ctrl + H to display hidden folders. Once you have located the folder. Wine proceed to delete the system with Shift + Delete
Download the most current version of Wine, in my case was Wine 1.3.34
Choose "Install a Windows DLL or component" and OK
Open the package "Winetricks" again, choose "Select the default Wineprefix" and OK. Choose "Install a font" and select "corefonts".
Open the package again Winetricks and perform the following steps: Choose "Select the default Wineprefix" and OK Select "Run winecfg"
Once in the Settings window, go to the tab "Libraries". Click "* msxml6? then "Edit" and change to "Native (Windows)". Click "New replacement for Library" and add "gdiplus" and "riched20?. Then click on "Edit" and change to "Native (Windows)". Click "riched20? then "Edit" and change to "Native (Windows)". Once each of the steps above, Run the Installer Microsoft Office 2010 from the DVD (or remove the imagen.iso and ajecutar installer) and wait for the program to install completely. This may take several minutes depending on the characteristics of the computer.
As shown in the picture above, we were able to successfully install Microsoft Office 2010 in Ubuntu Linux using Wine 1.3.34 11.10, currently the only program has compatibility issues with the font that was edited in Windows 7.
I hope it useful for all who try and remember that I love :3 .....
