I guess this "How to" is one for the girls... although I don't see any reason why men can't partake in some foot exfoliating too. There's nothing worse than a guy with gross feet

Summer is coming (wooo hoooo) and we'll soon have to expose our feet to the world again which means it's time to give them a good preening. You don't have to splurge on an expensive pedicure at the nail salon to get a good foot exfoliation, you can do it yourself at home for half the price. Before you do anything else, exfoliation is key. Not only does it remove dead skin cells making your feet feel infinitely softer but it also helps to reduce calluses.
My friend works in a beauty salon and she gave me this recipe for a simple salt scrub that you can make at home:

1/2 cup sea salt
1/2 cup vegetable oil
15 drops essential oil (according to your preference. Eucalyptus, lavender, lemon and peppermint all work well for your feet.)
Make the mixture and apply it to your feet and then give them a good scrub with a pumice stone or foot file.
Wash the mixture off and apply a good moisturizer afterwards. I swear by Neutrogena's Foot cream.
Check out this really good how-to video which shows you step by step how to exfoliate.
