I came across a cool beauty post the other day proposing the idea of DIY lace decorated nails. Not something I've ever seen before but I think they look pretty cool. They'd work well with that floaty feminine look or an all black evening look.
The writer suggested using just a normal spool of lace and combining it with various coats of varnish and glue to make it stick. I can't imagine it lasts as long as your average manicure but it could definitely work for an evening out!

Here's a summary of her DIY Lace Manicure instructions so you can give it a go too. I reckon you'll need some assistance with this one. It'll be tricky to do it yourself.
Apply a base coat and color to nails so as to protect nails against glue. (Choose a base color that matches well, or even contrasts well, with the color of the lace)
Lay the lace over the nail and cut the lace to the size of the nail. Small scissors required! Make sure the lace doesn't extend beyond the nail otherwise you won't be able to seal it with top coat.
Coat the back side of the lace with non permanent glue using a toothpick and place the lace on the nail pressing the sides down carefully.
When you've done that with all the nails, apply a thick clear top coat until the nails are smooth to the touch.
It could be the start of a new fashion trend.....
(Couldn't add my source below for some reason so I'll just paste it here:
