Browser Background for Mozilla Firefox.


The extension "Browser Background" is to put wallpaper in several tabs open in your browser. They can be any type of images, whether that Firefox provides, such as those photos and images that you have stored on your computer. It is very easy.

How to view backgrounds.



To view backgrounds just open up a new tab as you do for everyday web surfing. To open a new tab you can use one of the below methods:

1.- Use your keyboard's CTRL+T combination. This is the recommended one becuase it is the most efficient and fast method.

2.- From the Firefox menu bar, click on File menu and choose New Tab menu option.



When the new tab opens, rather than viewing a blank white page, one of your installed backgrounds will be shown. At each new tab your background will change and another one will be displayed.



How to add photos.



If you want to add your own images, such as your girlfriend's or boyfirend's photos to your browser as wallpaper, you can use below procedure to achieve this.

1.- Right click on the green cube icon that reside at browser statusbar and choose Browser Backgrounds menu option to open up Browser Backgrounds Window.



2.- Buttons that are used to browse background collections are placed at the left column of the window. Click on the button that will retrieve the collection which you want to add your photo to. In this example we will add the photo inside Generic collection



3.- When the collection is fetched use Add button that reside at the top of the collection. After it is clicked, a file selection window will pop up and you will be able to choose the image file that you want to add to your browser.



4.- Navigate to the directory that your image is in. Select the image by clicking on it and use Open button of the file selection window.



5.- Your image will be added to your the collection automatically and a new thumbnail will be created. You can view your photo by opening new tab.

How to install new backgrounds.



BrowserBackgrounds.com is the community site which is specially devoted to serve best looking wallpapers that can be installed on your browser with one click. You can browse hundreds of wallpapers that are specially optimised for your browser on the site. The service also lets you share your wallpapers with other Firefox users.

This service requires registration to the site. If you did not already join, you can register now.

Each served wallpaper has its own unique page on the site . For this tutorial we will use a wonderful Megan Fox wallpaper.



Before you install the wallpaper on your browser, you have the oppurtunity to preview it. There is a red button saying Preview on the middle of the page. This button will let you preview the background images via add-on interface. Clicking on the button will slide down the Preview Panel into the view. The background retrieval process will start and after a while the background will be displayed on the screen.



You may try to change the position of the wallpaper before you install. Use the OPTIONS button that will slide up the position options. The position buttons are self intuitive to use.

* Left Top: will place the wallpaper left top corner of your browser space.
* Left Bottom: will place the wallpaper left bottom corner of your browser space.
* Right Top: will place the wallpaper right top corner of your browser space.
* Right Bottom: will place the wallpaper right bottom corner of your browser space.
* Center: will center the wallpaper inside browser space.

To install the wallpaper on your browser click on the INSTALL button at the right bottom section of your screen. A new small dialog box will appear so that you will be able to add the background to the desired collection. Choose the appropriate collection and press Save button.



The background will be installed automatically and you will be informed with a dialog box saying "Background installed successfully".



After background is installed you can close the Preview Panel by clicking on the Close button.

To browse backgrounds that are uploaded by addon users refer to the Backgrounds section of the site.

You can also browse the uploaded wallpaper classiefied by screen resolutions.



How to change position.



If the installed background misaligned in the view area or if you think the background may look better at another section of the screen, you can change the position of the background as described below.

1.- After you open the background that you want to change its position, right click on it and hover on Change Background Position menuoption. You may choose already defined background positions like: Left Top, Right Top, Center, Right Top, Right Bottom values. The options are self intuitive to use.

- Left Top: will place the wallpaper left top corner of your browser space.
- Left Bottom: will place the wallpaper left bottom corner of your browser space.
- Right Top: will place the wallpaper right top corner of your browser space.
- Right Bottom: will place the wallpaper right bottom corner of your browser space.
- Center: will center the wallpaper inside browser space.

If you want to manually adjust position choose Custom.



2.- Just drag the red Drag Box. You may move the wallpaper in any direction you like. When the new position of the background fits to you, just release the mouse button. This will save the new position permanently for the background.




How to upload background.



Browser Backgrounds is the community site which is specially devoted to serve and share best wallpapers that can be easily installed on Firefox through Browser Backgrounds add-on. If you have a really good wallpaper that you think other Firefox users may enjoy, you can share it on the site following the below easy steps.

1.- Open up the wallpaper that you want to upload as a new tab inside Firefox. Right click on the wallpaper and choose Upload This Background menu option.



2.- If it is the first time you try to upload a wallpaper an information alert box will appear about the upload process. Read it and accept it.



3.- The upload form will pop up and you need to fill out the required fileds as described below.

- Name:This is the descriptive name of the wallpaper you try to upload. Say if the wallpaper is about FC Arsenal then this field can be filled out as FC Arsenal.

- Tags:The tag field is used to tag your wallpaper. Separate the tags by commas. Say if the wallpaper is about FC Arsenal then this field can be filled out as FC Arsenal,Football,Soccer,Sport

- Description:Describe your wallpaper in this field comprehensively to encourage other Firefox users to install your wallpaper.



4.- After you fill out the form completely just click on the Upload button. The upload process will begin and you will notice the developing progress as percentage. Wait till the upload completes up. Then you will be automatically redirected to the special page devoted to your wallpaper.



Visit the site and download the Mozilla Firefox browser (Click in the image).
