Change wallpaper and color of Windows 8 Metro interface
The Windows 8 Developer Preview does not give you option to change the wallpaper and background color of the Metro interface. You will not find any option in Control Panel to accomplish this exchange.
Windows 8 Start Tweaker is a small but useful portable tool for Windows 8 that allows you to change the wallpaper, as well as the color of the Windows 8 Metro interface with just one click.
Using the Windows 8 Start Tweaker
1. Download the Windows Start Tweaker 8, Extract the file and run the downloaded file Win8StartTweaker.exe.
2. When you run it, it will be displayed in Chinese. Click on the flag of the United States (located in the lower right corner) to change the language to English.
3. Click on the image standard Windows interface Metro 8 to select a new image .
It supports PNG, BMP, JPG and GIF. The image height must be twice the height of the screen resolution to fill it. Ex: If the resolution is 1200 × 800, use an image 1600px high.
4. Click the default background color of the interface Metro to set a new background color.
5. Finally, click the Apply to make the switch. Then click Yes to log off Windows to apply the changes. Log in again to see the new color and the wallpaper in action.
If you want to restore the wallpaper and the default background color of the Windows interface Metro 8, all you need to do is run Windows Tweaker 8 Start button again and click the Reset.
