Continuing with the Argentine Photographers Series, here's second delivery: Alicia D'Amico.
Alicia D'Amico
Buenos Aires, Argentina 1933-2001
In 1955 she was granted a scholarchip by the goverment of France and lived in Paris during a year. She then buys her first camera.
In 1957 she started studying photography in her father's studio, Luis D’Amico. In 1960 she opened one of her one, in association with Sara Facio. They worked together until 1986. In 1973 she is a cofunder of the Consejo Argentino de Fotografía, in which she participated until 1987. In 1983 she was a cofunder of the Lugar de Mujer, the first feminist house in Argentina.
She begun showing her pictures in 1963. She has done numerous solo and group shows in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland, England, Japan, Russia, Puerto Rico, USA, Germany.
