Large-Scale Mural By Eduardo Kobra In Commemoration of Oscar Niemeyer

Brazilian street artist Eduardo Kobra created an outstanding mural to commemorate the famous Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer, who recently passed away at the age of 104. And it really is outstanding, since it is 52 meters tall and 16 meters wide. The large scale project covers entire side of a huge skyscraper on Paulista Avenue, one of the busiest streets in Sao Paulo.

The mural grabs your attention not only because of it’s size. The bold vibrant colors on a tall building really change the area’s landscape and catches the eye. The project started on January 14, 2013, and was carried out with the help of Kobra’s four artists team. The humongous art piece was inspired by Niemeyer’s architecture and some of the colorful details of the mural were even based on the architect’s work.
