Traditional art is so under utilized. It seems to me that everyone defaults to digital, forgeting how to simply pick up a pencil and draw. While I do a little of everything, I've found my home in traditional media. With a growing following on DeviantArt, I feel I'm doing my piece to keep traditional art from fading into the background.
This one is a lot different than the ones I normally do. First off, it's expressive. Usually, I'm drawing half naked men with smoldering glares. I really wanted to avoid that with this one. Also, it's probably the most detailed piece I've done to date. At least, it feels that way.
This one started with an idea in my head while I was driving. As I put pencil to paper, it took on it's own life. For instance, the character was originally going to be a litle more European in appearance. I love it when stuff like that happens though.
