I'm not usually a fan of digital art. It's not something that really strikes me. However I do really like the digital paintings of Switzerland-based artist Robi Pena, in particular his pseudo-realistic series of provocative "humanimal" pin ups. There's something really alluring about the way he combines feminine characteristics with animal attributes. He merges the idea of a 50s pin up women with something more mystical and they have a sexy yet fairy tale quality about them.





He's played around with rabbits, flamingos, bats and puppies. Some of his images simply depict females with costume-like additions, while others push the limits of humanimal hybridization with horses’ legs replacing people’s and bat wings being attached onto females’ backs which makes me think of ancient mythology.
