I was able to catch some of the magnificence of the Milky Way between 3AM - 6AM ... AND a shooting star/ UFO. haha seriously, it was an unidentified object. It was too slow to be a shooting star and too fast to be a plane... it started out as looking like a shooting star and then in mid flight it lit up SUPER bright (like in the second picture) and took off super fast. IT WAS EPIC. I also did my first time lapse through the night but sadly it won't show up when I post it on here. Hope everyone likes!! and if anyone knows how I can upload a video thats not posted on youtube or a GIF please let me know, I'd love to share my time lapse!
thanks so much everyone!!!
these are amazing!
where is the video uploaded? vimeo?
I don't have it uploaded anywhere yet... I was hoping I could just post it from my computer like I do with all my other photos on here. I'm not very familiar with the video field so I wasn't sure how I would go about posting it on here. What is Vimeo?

Love u! :P
The only left to know is exposure time, I note that the stars are not moving, therefore exposure should be short right? I have a Nikon D3100, isn't good as yours but I can invent something ^^
Ty again, and I will send you my pic soon.

oh wow... sorry. totally forgot one of the most important settings. LOL i used 15 seconds on all of them. You can get away with 20 seconds but anymore than that and you'll start getting small star trails.

haha no no you are not asking too much! :D
... I set my tripod up in one spot the whole time and set my shutter for 15 seconds (I had a remote) and just clicked the remote and locked it so it would continuously take photos throughout the night (from 2am - 6am is how long I did it for... if i remember correctly) and i think it was a total of (roughly) 450 pictures :D
... sorry its been a while since i did this so i don't remember the exact numbers :/
and i ALWAYS shoot in manual :D
